Kia Stinger CK: Front Driveshaft Assembly / BJ Boot

Repair procedures
Replacement
1.

Remove the front driveshaft.

(Refer to Driveshaft Assembly - “Front Driveshaft”)

2.

Remove the TJ joint assembly.

(Refer to Driveshaft Assembly - “TJ Joint”)

3.

Using a plier or flat-tipped (-) screwdriver, remove the BJ boot bands (A).

4.

Remove the BJ boot.

5.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

  

Do not disassemble the BJ assembly.

Special grease must be applied to the driveshaft joint. Do not substitute with another type of grease.

The boot band should be replaced with a new one.

6.

Check the front alignment.

Repair procedures Replacement 1. Remove the condenser. 2. Remove the cap (B) from the bottom of the condenser using an L wrench (A). Tightening torque : 9.8 - 14.7 N·m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf·m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb·ft) 3. Remove the receiver-drier (A) from condenser using long nose pliers.

In order for the FCA system to operate properly, always make sure the sensor or sensor cover is clean and free of dirt, snow, and debris. Dirt, snow, or foreign substances on the lens may adversely affect the sensing performance of the sensor. ✽ NOTICE Do not install any accessories, such as a license plate bracket or bumper sticker near the sensor area.
