Repair procedures

Replacement

1.	Remove the front driveshaft. (Refer to Driveshaft Assembly - “Front Driveshaft”)

2.	Remove the TJ joint assembly. (Refer to Driveshaft Assembly - “TJ Joint”)

3.	Using a plier or flat-tipped (-) screwdriver, remove the BJ boot bands (A).

4.	Remove the BJ boot.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Do not disassemble the BJ assembly.

•	Special grease must be applied to the driveshaft joint. Do not substitute with another type of grease.

•	The boot band should be replaced with a new one.

6.	Check the front alignment. (Refer to Suspension System - "Alignment")

If you lose your smart key, you will not be able to start the engine. Tow the vehicle, if necessary, and contact an authorized Kia dealer. A maximum of 2 smart keys can be registered to a single vehicle. If you lose a smart key, you should immediately take the vehicle and key to your authorized Kia dealer to protect it from potential theft.

Repair procedures Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the tailgate back panel. (Refer to Body - "Tailgate Back Panel") 3. Disconnect the license lamp connectors (A). 4. Remove the license lamp (A) after pressing the locking pin.
