Description and operation
| Description |
The Emergency Fastening Device (EFD) operates at the same time with the Seat Belt Pretensioner when the deployment condition is satisfied in the event of a collision.
It is an auxiliary equipment that instantly pulls the seat belts toward the anchor in the event of frontal collision to protect the driver and front passenger from breaking away.
It is located near the anchor on the driver and passenger seat and is supported by two cables.
Never measure the resistance of the anchor pretensioner directly, the current of the measuring device may cause unexpected airbag deploy. |

Disconnect the battery negative terminal, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work. |

Remove the door scuff trim. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Door Scuff Trim") |

Remove the center pillar trim. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Center Pillar Trim) |
| 4. |
Remove the EFD connector (A). |

Remove the EFD mounting bolt.
