Description and operation
| Description |
The Seat Belt Pretensioners (BPT) are installed inside the Center Pillars (LH & RH). When a vehicle crashes at a certain degree of frontal impact, the seat belt pretensioners help reduce the severity of injury to the front seat occupants by retracting the seat belt webbing.
This prevents the front occupants from thrusting forward and hitting the steering wheel or the instrument panel when the vehicle crashes.
Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the Seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT) even if you are using the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, the pretensioner will be ignited accidentally. This will result in serious personal injury. |

Repair procedures
| Removal |
| 1. |
Disconnect the battery negative terminal, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work. |

Remove the door scuff trim. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Door Scuff Trim") |
| 3. |
Remove the center pillar trim. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Center Pillar Trim) |
| 4. |
Remove the upper anchir bolt (A).

Disconnect the seat belt pretensioner connector (A) and then remove the seat belt pretensioner.

Loosen the seat belt pretensioner bolts (A,B).
|
| Installation |
| 1. |
Disconnect the negative battery terminal, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work. |
| 2. |
Install in the reverse order of removal. |

The liftgate can be opened with notouch activation satisfying all the conditions below. After 15 seconds when all doors are closed and locked Positioned in the detecting area for more than 3 seconds. ✽ NOTICE • The Smart Liftgate does not operate when: - The smart key is detected within 15 seconds after the doors are closed and locked, and is continuously detected.1. Park on a level surface and apply the parking brake firmly. 2. Place the transaxle shift lever in P (Park). 3. Activate the hazard warning flashers. 4. Remove the wheel lug nut wrench, jack and spare tire from the vehicle. 5. Block both the front and rear of the wheel that is diagonally opposite from the jack position. WARNING - Jack location To reduce the possibility of injury, be sure to use only the jack provided with the vehicle in the correct jack position; never use any other part of the vehicle for jack support.
