Kia Stinger CK: Cylinder Block / Rear Oil Seal

Repair procedures
Replacement
1.

Remove the automatic transmission.

(Refer to Automatic Transmission System - "Automatic Transmission")

2.

Remove the drive plate.

(Refer to Cylinder Block - "Drive Plate")

3.

Remove the rear oil seal (A).

4.

Install new rear oil seal.

Apply engine oil to a new oil seal lip.

(2)

Using SST (09214 - 2W200, 09214-3K100) (B) and a hammer, tap in the oil seal (A) until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

  

Always use a new rear oil seal.

5.

Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal.

Some vehicles ahead in your lane cannot be recognized by the sensor as follows: - Narrow vehicles such as motorcycles or bicycles - Vehicles offset to one side - Slow-moving vehicles or suddendecelerating vehicles - Stopped vehicles - Vehicles with small rear profiles such as trailers with no loads A vehicle ahead cannot be recognized correctly by the sensor if any of following occurs: - When the vehicle is pointing upwards due to overloading in the trunk or luggage area.

Repair procedures Removal BSM (Balance Shaft Module) Chain System 1. Remove the timing chain. (Refer to Timing System - "Timing Chain") 2. Install a stopper pin (A) after compressing the balance shaft chain tensioner. 3. Remove the balance shaft chain tensioner (B).
