Repair procedures
| Removal |
| 1. |
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. |
| 2. |
Remove the tailgate trim. (Refer to Body - "Tailgate Trim") |
| 3. |
Disconnect the power tailgate latch connector (A) and power closing unit connector (B).

| 4. |
Loosen the power tailgate latch (A) mounting bolts.
|
| 5. |
Loosen the power closing unit (A) mounting nuts.
|
| 6. |
Remove the power tailgate latch & power closing unit (A).

| Installation |
| 1. |
Install the power tailgate latch and power closing unit. |
| 2. |
Connect the power tailgate latch and power closing unit connector. |
| 3. |
Install the tailgate trim. |
| 4. |
Connect the negative (-) battery terminal. |

Repair procedures Removal [NON ECS] 1. Remove wheel nuts, wheel and tire (A) from hub. All tire pressures (including the spare) should be checked when the tires are cold. “Cold Tires” means the vehicle has not been driven for at least three hours or driven less than 1.6 km (one mile). Recommended pressures must be maintained for the best ride, top vehicle handling, and minimum tire wear. For recommended inflation pressure refer to “Tire and wheels” in chapter 8.
