Repair procedures

Inspection

1.	Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

2.	Remove the fuse box cover (A).

3.	Remove the starter relay (A).

Check for continuity between the terminals (30 and 87) using an ohmmeter.

Terminal	Resistance	Measure
30 - 87	1MΩ or higher	If there is continuity between the terminals, replace the relay.

Apply 12V to the terminal 85 and ground to the terminal 86 and then check for continuity between the terminals (30 and 87).

Terminal	Resistance	Measure
30 - 87	1Ω or less	If there is no continuity between the terminals, replace the relay.

6.	Install the starter relay.

1.Carry the smart key or place it inside the vehicle. 2.Make sure the parking brake is firmly applied 3.Place the shift lever in P (Park). Depress the brake pedal fully. You can also start the engine when the shift lever is in the N (Neutral) position. 4.Press the engine start/stop button while depressing the brake pedal. 5.Do not wait for the engine to warm up while the vehicle remains stationary.
