Removal
  

Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  

When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver or use a prying trim tool, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.

Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface.

Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.

1.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.

Remove the crash pad lower panel.

(Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel")

3.

Remove the knee airbag (KAB) module.

(Refer to Restraint - "Knee Airbag (KAB) Module")

4.

Disconnect the AVM unit connectors (A).

5.

Remove the AVM unit (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

Installation
1.

Install the AVM unit.

2.

Connect the AVM unit connectors.

3.

Install the knee airbag (KAB) module.

4.

Install the crash pad lower panel.

5.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

To keep the locks from freezing, squirt an approved de-icer fluid or glycerine into the key opening. If a lock is covered with ice, squirt it with an approved de-icing fluid to remove the ice. If the lock is frozen internally, you may be able to thaw it out by using a heated key. Handle the heated key with care to avoid injury. Use approved window washer anti-freeze in system To keep the water in the window washer system from freezing, add an approved window washer anti-freeze solution in accordance with instructions on the container.

The rear parking distance warning - reverse assists the driver during backward movement of the vehicle by chiming if any object is sensed within a distance of 120 cm (47 in.) behind the vehicle. This system is a supplemental system and it is not intended to nor does it replace the need for extreme care and attention of the driver. The sensing range and objects detectable by the back sensors (1) are limited.
