| Description |
Installed on the windshield glass, the auto defogging sensor judges and sends signal to blow out wind for defogging if moisture occurs. On receiving the signal from the sensor, the air conditioner control module restrains moisture and eliminates fog by controlling the intake actuator, A/C, auto defogging actuator, blower motor rpm, and mode actuator.

To inspect and diagnose the sensor, refer to Self-Diagnostic procedure and DTC guide.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. |
| 2. |
Remove the auto defogging sensor cover (A).

Remove the auto defogging sensor (A) after disconnecting the auto defogging sensor connector (B).

Install in the reverse order of removal. |

Your vehicle is equipped with the emergency liftgate safety release lever located on the bottom of the liftgate. When someone is inadvertently locked in the luggage compartment, the liftgate can be opened by doing as follows: 1. Remove the cover. 2. Push the release lever to the right. 3. Push up the liftgate. WARNING For emergencies, be fully aware of the location of the emergency liftgate safety release lever in the vehicle and how to open the liftgate if you are accidentally locked in the luggage compartment.
