Repair procedures
| Removal |
| 1. |
Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. |
| 2. |
Remove the luggage side trim. (Refer to Body - "Luggage side trim") |
| 3. |
Disconnect the ECS control unit connector (A).
|
| 4. |
Loosen the ECS control unit bracket nut and then remove the ECS control unit (A).
|
| Installation |
| 1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal. |
| 2. |
Perform ECS variant coding. |

Description and operation Description Installed inside the front seat, the side airbags (SAB) protect the driver and front passenger from danger in the event of a side crash. The SRSCM determines deployment of side airbag based on Side Impact Sensor (SIS) signal.
