Description and operation
Description

Via the seat belt/door switch, the ISG function can detect if the driver side seat belt is fastened and the driver side door is closed. If the driver side seat belt/door are not fastened/closed, the ISG system will not operate. If the seat belt/door are unfastened/opened, the engine will not start or stop by the ISG function for safety reasons.

Repair procedures
Removal
1.

Remove the front seat assembly.

(Refer to Front Seat - "Front Seat Assembly")

2.

Remove the front seat belt buckle (A) after loosening the mounting bolt.

Tightening torque :

39.2 - 53.9 N·m (4.0 - 5.5 Kgf·m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb·ft)

Installation
1.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Repair procedures Inspection [On vehicle inspection] 1. Accelerate the engine to about 3,000 rpm 3 times or more. 2. Remove the spark plug. 3. Check the spark plug visually. If the electrode is dry, the spark plug is normal. If the electrode is wet, check the damage and electrode gap as below.
