Repair procedures

Replacement

1.	Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.	After loosening the nuts and bolts, remove the main crash pad and cowl cross bar assembly altogether. (Refer to Heater - "Heater Unit")

3.	Remove the heater core (A).

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Replace the O-rings with new ones at each fitting, and apply a thin coat of refrigerant oil before installing them. Be sure to use the right O-rings for R-134a, R-1234yf to avoid leakage.

•	Immediately after using the oil, replace the cap on the container, and seal it to avoid moisture absorption.

•	Do not spill refrigerant oil on the vehicle as it may damage the paint. If refrigerant oil comes in contact with the paint, wash it off immediately.

•	Apply sealant to the grommets.

•	Make sure that there is no air leakage.

•	Charge the system and test its performance.

•	Do not interchange the inlet and outlet heater hoses and install the hose clamps securely.

•	Refill the cooling system with engine coolant.

Based on the converted voltage, engine ECU controls cooling fan by operating it at high or low speed. A child riding in the front passenger seat can be forcefully struck by an inflating airbag and seriously injured. WARNING - Hot Child Restraint A child restraint system can become very hot if it is left in a closed vehicle on a sunny day. Be sure to check the seat cover, buckles and latches before placing a child in the restraint system.
