Repair procedures

Replacement

•	Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.

•	Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.

1.	Remove the tailgate trim. (Refer to tailgate - "tailgate Trim")

2.	Disconnect the rear combination lamp connector [inside] (A).

3.	Remove the rear combination lamp [inside] (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

4.	Remove the tailgate back panel (A) by using a remover.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Make sure that the connector is connected properly.

•	Replace any damage clips.

Curtain air bags are located along both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors. They are designed to help protect occupants in certain side impacts and to help prevent them from ejecting out of the vehicle as a result of a rollover, especially when the seatbelts are also in use. The curtain air bags are designed to deploy during certain side impact collisions, depending on the crash severity, angle, speed and point of impact.
