Brake/Clutch Fluid
Repair procedures
| Inspection |
Check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir. The level should be between “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the side of the reservoir.
Use only hydraulic brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification.
Check the brake system for any leakage if the fluid level is extremely low (lower than MIN).

Check the drive shaft boots for loose clamps, cracks, grease leaks, kinks or damage.

Parking Brake

Check whether the stroke is within specification when the parking brake pedal is depressed with 66 lb, 294 N(30 kg) of force. Also, the parking brake alone should securely hold the vehicle on a fairly steep grade. If the stroke is more or less than specified, have the parking brake adjusted by an authorized Kia dealer.

Kia Stinger (CK) 2018-2023 Service Manual: ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system
Your vehicle may be equipped with the ISG system, which reduces fuel consumption by automatically shutting down the engine, when the vehicle is at a standstill. (For example : red light, stop sign and traffic jam) The engine starts automatically as soon as the starting conditions are met. The ISG system is ON whenever the engine is running. ✽ NOTICE When the engine automatically starts by the ISG system, some warning lights (ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or Parking brake warning light) may turn on for a few seconds.Repair procedures Disassembly In case of removing the high pressure fuel pump, high pressure fuel pipe, delivery pipe, and injector, there may be injury caused by leakage of the high pressure fuel. So don’t do any repair work right after engine stops. • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.Categories
