Brake/Clutch Fluid
Repair procedures
| Inspection |
Check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir. The level should be between “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the side of the reservoir.
Use only hydraulic brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification.
Check the brake system for any leakage if the fluid level is extremely low (lower than MIN).

Check the drive shaft boots for loose clamps, cracks, grease leaks, kinks or damage.

Parking Brake

Check whether the stroke is within specification when the parking brake pedal is depressed with 66 lb, 294 N(30 kg) of force. Also, the parking brake alone should securely hold the vehicle on a fairly steep grade. If the stroke is more or less than specified, have the parking brake adjusted by an authorized Kia dealer.

ABS (or ESC) will not prevent accidents due to improper or dangerous driving maneuvers. Even though vehicle control is improved during emergency braking, always maintain a safe distance between you and objects ahead. Vehicle speeds should always be reduced during extreme road conditions. The vehicle should be driven at reduced speeds in the following circumstances: When driving on rough, gravel or snow-covered roads When driving on roads where the road surface is pitted or has different surface heights.Repair procedures Removal [2WD Lateral arm] 1. Remove wheel nuts, front wheel and tire (A) from hub. Tightening torque: 107.9 - 127.5 N·m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb·ft) Be careful not to damage the wheel bolts when removing the wheel and tire (A).Categories
